Football Star

AJ looked like a little pro in yesterday's game. Of all the sports he has played so far, this is by far his favorite. He is having so much fun! In the one picture you can't really see AJ, look close....AJ wanted this one included on the blog because it's the only picture I was able to click fast enough when he was ripping off someone's flag who had the ball. I wish the player from the other team wasn't blocking the way so you could see the determination on AJ's face when he is after a flag.

Flag Football 2nd Game

Okay. Still no pictures of flag football because Dave took off with my camera today, but AJ had a GREAT game! His team lost, but that is not the point. AJ played hard and was outstanding. He got 4 flags off the other team carrying the ball, 1 touchdown, and 1 extra point!! He was so exctied!

Sad times, Happy times

This past weekend, AJ and I traveled to Kansas. When we made our travel plans we thought we would be going to say goodbye to my Uncle Doug. Unfortunately, he passed away the weekend before we made it to KS. Only those who knew Doug could have any understanding of what an amazing individual he was. I was lucky enough that my dad married us into a great family, and I honestly couldn't have loved Doug any more had I been born his niece. So we had some crying and some laughing while talking and thinking about Doug over the weekend. Since I failed to even consider the fact that it was Easter weekend, it was a good thing both AJ's grandma's thought to help AJ celebrate Easter with eggs and fun stuff.

Flag Football

In about two weeks or so, I will be sure to get some pics of AJ (and Dave) in action. This weekend, AJ started his flag football. He had a 30 minute practice immediately followed by two flag football games against different teams. AJ had a blast. Dave was perhaps a bit overwhelmed. Apparently a coach did not show up, so he got recruited to help coach. Dave says that coaching 3 and 4 year olds to play is a challenge. Of course they do not completely understand the rules, and some just are in their own little world. AJ did pretty well. He got to run the ball once, and didn't do too bad. He had the most fun however when playing defence. He ran down another kid who was carrying the ball and pulled the kid's flag. AJ got so excited when he got the flag that he then ran back to Dave waving the flag to proudly show off what he had done. AJ can't wait until the next game!
