Football, football, football

So, AJ has officially played for three different football teams. He loves that he has three different official jerseys now. He was a Falcon in the spring, he is now a Cardinal this summer, but for this one weekend, he was a Bengal. He played in a special weekend tournament. He played in single elimination games. He had an hour of practice, then played two back to back games yesterday morning. He and Dave (who coached) took a very LONG nap afterwards. So, since they won both their first games, they moved on to play again this afternoon. They won their first game today, so played another back to back game. Unfortunately, our team is made up of 4 and 5 year olds, but the team we played was all 6 year olds and one kid who just turned 7. Our kids did an admiral job, but were just no competition for the older, bigger, faster kids, so we did not get to play in the final championship game. Really, that was okay by me. Practice, then two back to back games makes for a long day as it is. I'm betting AJ will sleep very good tonight.

Trip to Disney World

Dave. AJ, and I met Dave's brother and family in Florida for the trip, so AJ very much enjoyed spending time with his cousins Dean and Dylan as well as all the fun things they got to see and do.

Before we went to Hollywood studios, AJ saw a commercial of sorts talking about the American Idol studio at the park. He wanted so badly for us to let him go sing on stage. We didn't make it there, but there was a mini set up outside as we were walking to another attraction, and AJ was ever too excited to sing a song with a microphone for everyone.
Dinosaurs at Disney's Animal Kingdom. There was a dinosaur ride that apparently terrified AJ. He was pretty convinced that the dinos were real.
We went to see a show of the Lion King, and AJ got picked from the audience to teach our section how to roar like lions before the show started.

The line to see Mickey Mouse in person at this house was forever long, but AJ did get to see him on a parade float and did get to visit his house.

High five from Buzz Lightyear.
Buzz Lightyear ride at Magic Kingdom was one of AJ's favorite rides.

Thanks so much to Becky and Jeramie for inviting us to join them on their trip. It was so much fun. We definitely want to do it again in 5 or 6 years. When AJ is 10 and the baby is 5 would be a perfect time to go again.

The end of Spring Football

The beginning of the last game. All the kids played in "Bowl Games." AJ's was the Sponge Bob Square Pants bowl game.
AJ received his very first trophy. Can you believe that we didn't notice until we got home that they misspelled his name?
The team, the coaches, and their plaques and trophies. AJ was as excited about Daddy getting a plaque for being a coach as he was about his own trophy.

AJ has already started Summer football with a new team. He was on the Falcons and is now on the Cardnals. His new team hasn't gotten much of a flow yet, and as a result, all the kids are playing poorly, but AJ still seems to be having a great time.

Old Fashioned pics

AJ's daycare did a fun for the kids picture shoot, dressing the kids up in old fashioned clothes to have their pictures taken. AJ said it was fun, but he was pretty shy with the camera guy.
